We are pleased to announce that London's Duck & Waffle has chosen Action Against Hunger as their charity partner for 2016. Executive Chef Dan Doherty has been a dedicated supporter and ambassador for Action Against Hunger for a number of years.

Last year he took part in our Myanmar Cycle in September as well as supporting us at Taste of London: The Festive Edition in November with a 5 Star Kebab. In 2014, Doherty joined 20 other chefs and food industry members in cycling over 400kms across Rajisthan, India, in a successful bid to raise £100,000 for our programmes. The participants also had the opportunity to visit our field programmes in the region and see first-hand the important work that Action Against Hunger does.

To kick off the partnership Duck & Waffle will host an exclusive ‘Experimental Supper’ in their intimate private dining room, the highest in the UK. On Monday 21st March 18 guests will get a “first look” at several brand new dishes created by Doherty in honour of Action Against Hunger.  The £85 ticket funds will go directly to Action Against Hunger and include a four-course menu paired with wines and a cocktail on arrival.

Event guests will taste an array of never-before-seen dishes, that take the already exciting nature of Duck & Waffle’s menu to new heights including dishes such as ‘Lamb with Salt Baked Celeriac and Anchovy’ and ‘Jerusalem artichoke custard tart’. Guests will be invited to give feedback on the dishes at the evening’s close, many of which may make their way onto Duck & Waffle’s menu in the future.

Dan said: “I am delighted myself and the Duck & Waffle team will be supporting Action Against Hunger on an ongoing basis.” “I believe it is a perfect fit for the restaurant and a truly fantastic charity. I can’t wait to get involved in this endeavour and have some fun creating exciting dishes whilst raising money for an excellent cause.”

We are proud to be chosen as Duck & Waffle’s charity partner for 2016. We look forward to working closely with Dan and the Duck & Waffle team this year to raise even more for our lifesaving programmes around the world.
